What You’ll Be Doing:

The Assistant Financial Controller is a multifaceted role that encompasses financial oversight and procurement management. This position is responsible for guiding the finance team in preparing financial statements according to India GAAP, managing payroll, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting audits. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the procurement team, managing vendor data in the Workday system, and setting strategic directions for purchase orders and vendor data management. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Financial Oversight: Guide the team to prepare India GAAP financial statements, ensuring they are true and fair. 
  • Procurement Team Management: Oversee the procurement team responsible for vendor data management in Workday. 
  • Vendor Data Accuracy: Ensure the legitimacy and accuracy of vendor data, including bank account information. 
  • Strategic Direction: Set strategic direction for purchase orders and vendor data management. 
  • Payroll and Ad-Hoc Activities: Oversee payroll processing and other ad-hoc activities to ensure accurate month-end numbers. 
  • Audit Support: Assist during statutory audits and maintain data for notes to accounts disclosures. 
  • Tax and Compliance: Manage tax audits, intercompany ledger breakdowns, transfer pricing analysis, and inward remittance mappings. 
  • Internal Audit Support: Liaise with the internal audit team and manage global accounting tasks. 
  • US GAAP Reconciliations: Review balance sheet reconciliations for US GAAP monthly. 
  • Closing Procedures: Ensure timely completion of month/quarter end close tasks. 
  • Revenue and Tax Reporting: Handle revenue reporting, advance tax computation, GST returns, and payroll compliances. 
  • Vendor Management Liaison: Work with the Vendor Management Office for new vendor addition. 
  • Escalation Management: Address escalations concerning vendor additions and review inactive vendors. 
  • Vendor Portal Oversight: Supervise the vendor portal operations. 
  • Collaboration with Finance: Partner with the finance team for budgeting and forecasting impacts. 

Qualifications: 

  • Chartered Accountant with 8+ years of GCC experience 
  • Proven experience in financial control, accounting, procurement, and vendor data management. 
  • Strong knowledge of India GAAP, US GAAP, and the Workday system. 
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and strategic thinking skills. 
  • Ability to handle escalations and complex financial and procurement issues. 
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Prior experience working with a Big Four firm is preferred.

Mandatory Requirements:

Employees must have a high-speed broadband internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps and the ability to set up a wired connection to their home network to ensure effective remote work. These requirements may be updated as needed by the business.
