What You’ll Be Doing:
The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager, Finance and assists with the management and execution of Evolent Health’s finance operations. Evolent Health is looking for a Staff Accountant to be based in our Pune, India office. This individual will work directly with leadership as well as be a critical team member who helps drive the planning and execution of accounting tasks. This individual will also work directly with the Director and Managing Director Finance and other leadership/ stakeholders
The Staff Accountant must be attuned to diverse and complex operations in order to add value to senior management and provide guidance throughout the organization. This is a hands-on position which interfaces with the most senior levels of management, as well as assists with the preparation, review and timely completion of Evolent’s annual financial close process. The Accountant must be detailed, action, solution and results oriented and dedicated to continuous improvement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Review contracts to evaluate applicability of ASC-842 and to flag embedded leases under the new lease accounting standard
Drive the accounting ops for the Evolent India subsidiary
Support lease accounting and related tasks
Support quarter-end SOX reviews for system controls
Prepare certain 10Q/K footnote disclosures
Assist Evolent India subsidiary to build monthly reporting packs for management including but not limited to detailed analysis of Budgets versus actuals for staff costs and non-staff costsPer hour costing by BUKey financial information for the leadership on a regular basis (like T&E, time compliance, budget performance per team and any other data requests)Automate reporting and analytics
Assist in all ad-hoc accounting matters as required by the Accounting Manager Finance and Associate Director Finance
Evolent Health, Inc operations:
Liase and own global accounting tasks assigned to the offshore team including but not limited to accruals, 10 Q/ K tie outs
Account for key items like accruals, prepaids, asset capitalisation and lease accounting
Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared for US GAAP on a monthly basis
Ensure that all tasks for month/ quarter end close are completed correctly and on time as per global close calendars
Compliance:
Lead the local compliance including but not limited to: Advance tax computation and paymentsSTPI complianceGST returnsAll other statutory returns and paymentsTax assessmentsSupport ad hoc requests for preparing and providing information as and when required by statutory authorities
Mandatory requirements:
Chartered Accountant or CPA preferred
Minimum of 1-3 years of prior experience with the big 4 (preferably in statutory audits) or with the finance team of a reputed organization
Hands-on with local compliance and regulations

Mandatory Requirements:
Employees must have a high-speed broadband internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps and the ability to set up a wired connection to their home network to ensure effective remote work. These requirements may be updated as needed by the business.
