Cyber Leader – Director
Job Description
About the role
As a Cyber Leader, you will be a senior delivery‑focused professional, trusted by executives and boards to help design, implement, and run cyber‑enabled business and technology outcomes.
While Auckland will be your primary base, you will be part of a national Cyber practice to deliver complex, high‑impact programmes.
This role suits someone who is collaborative, and who enjoys combining client delivery, thought leadership, and team development.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will:
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in client organisations
- Identify and convert new opportunities to support clients achieving their business outcomes through applying effective cyber expertise
- Lead and deliver cyber engagements from shaping through to implementation
- Take accountability for programme outcomes, timelines, and budgets
- Contribute the growth and direction of Deloitte’s national Cyber practice including bringing new cyber services and offerings into delivery with clients
- Apply strong commercial acumen to contribute to running of the practice effectively and profitably
- Work closely with our Technology & Transformation leaders to deliver integrated outcomes
- Support and develop high‑performing delivery teams across the Cyber practice
The work you’ll be involved in
Our Cyber team delivers across advisory, implementation, and operations, including:
- Cyber strategy and operating model design aligned to transformation agendas
- Secure cloud and digital platform enablement
- Identity and access modernisation programmes
- Cyber resilience, readiness, and response for critical services
- Regulatory, risk, and trust uplift initiatives
- Secure adoption of data, AI, and emerging technologies
This role has a strong emphasis on leading delivery and seeing work through to completion, not just advisory design, strategy or account management.
About you
You will likely bring:
- 15+ years’ experience, with senior leadership experience in cyber, technology, or digital transformation
- Strong experience in client‑facing delivery leadership roles, ideally within consulting or professional services
- A proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders
- Experience contributing to business development, account growth, or practice leadership
- Broad cyber capability, with depth in one or more areas (e.g. cyber strategy, identity, cloud security, resilience)
- Proven programme or project delivery experience, achieving outcomes on time and on budget
- Preferred (but not essential): experience working with organisations in Financial Services and/or the Consumer industry, such as banking, insurance, retail, or consumer products
If you’re motivated by the opportunity to deliver meaningful cyber outcomes and help organisations transform safely, we’d love to hear from you.
