Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Job Description
As a EHS Manager you will provide environmental, health, and safety leadership to develop and sustain a hazard-free work environment and promote a comprehensive safety culture. Deliver the necessary training and field support to ensure compliance with EHS requirements throughout the organization. Oversee the incident investigation process for all CTSC locations. Act as the subject matter expert for environmental regulations and compliance. Establish processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all appropriate environmental regulations. Ensure alignment of EHS initiatives and overall business objectives.
What you'll do
Develop EHS protocol and implement related training to eliminate at-risk behavior and ensure compliance to environmental standards.
Manage the incident investigation process for EHS events: receive initial notification of incident, conduct preliminary investigation, ensure proper documentation, and complete necessary reporting.
Act as a liaison to corporate EHS through ongoing communication, collaboration, and reporting.
Ensure centers are appropriately permitted for applicable environmental laws, tire storage/disposal, and chemical usage. Oversee the testing of emissions and ensure retread plants comply with environmental regulations.
Establish practices for the proper disposal of waste streams. Design and implement hazardous spill prevention/response plans for each location.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's Degree.
7 or more years of experience in an EHS-related field, preferably in a manufacturing and/or service environment with multiple locations across a multi-state geography. Experience must include developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs. Additionally, experience is needed in measuring EHS plan efficacy and the ability to adjust tactics to achieve results.
What Will Set You Apart
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS requirements (OSHA, MSHA, EPA, etc.). Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; verbal, written, and multi-media. Candidate must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization.
