The Center for Education Innovation (CEI) at HKUST is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Education Development Manager to join its Professional Development (PD) Team. This role is ideal for someone committed to enhancing teaching and learning through innovative pedagogical approaches, evidence-based practices, and strategic faculty development, particularly in an era shaped by artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver impactful professional development programs for faculty, instructors, and teaching assistants, focused on improving teaching practices and student learning outcomes.
• Promote and support the adoption of innovative, research-informed pedagogies such as active learning, experiential learning, gamification and game-based learning, and blended learning.
• Support faculty in integrating AI and emerging technologies into their teaching in responsible and pedagogically sound ways.
• Facilitate and contribute to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), including supporting research design, data interpretation, and dissemination of findings.
• Provide expert consultations on course and curriculum design, assessment strategies, and the use of educational technologies.
• Organize and lead workshops, learning communities, and one-on-one coaching tailored to diverse teaching and learning contexts.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A master’s degree or above in Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in higher education, particularly in faculty development, instructional design, or teaching development.
• Deep knowledge of pedagogical theory, adult learning, assessment strategies, and current trends in higher education.
• Experience with SoTL and a strong commitment to evidence-informed teaching enhancement.
• Familiarity with AI tools in education and digital pedagogy.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• A passion for teaching and learning, proactive work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• A dynamic, self-directed learner with strong initiative.

(Duration: 2 years)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
