Description
We are seeking an experienced Director of Safety to lead and manage safety programs across our company’s operations, including telecom, power, water utilities, data centers, construction, and field services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company-wide safety program across telecom, power, water utilities, data centers, and related field operations.
- Develop, update, and maintain safety policies, procedures, programs, and training materials.
- Work closely with field teams and operations leaders to identify risks, improve safety practices, and support compliance.
- Conduct field safety audits, jobsite inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety standards, client requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support safety requirements for utility, construction, data center, and critical infrastructure environments.
- Partner with leadership to improve safety performance, reduce incidents, and strengthen accountability across all departments.
- Review and improve existing safety documentation, including JSAs/JHAs, SOPs, emergency procedures, and incident reporting processes.
- Lead safety training initiatives for field employees, supervisors, and management.
- Track safety metrics, prepare reports, and present recommendations to leadership.
- Support onboarding and ongoing safety education for employees working in field, utility, construction, and data center environments.
- Serve as the main point of contact for safety-related questions, inspections, audits, and internal safety initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in safety management within utilities, telecom, construction, data centers, infrastructure, or field services.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety compliance.
- Experience writing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Ability to work directly with field crews and communicate safety expectations clearly and practically.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Comfortable balancing office-based responsibilities with regular field visits.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Safety-related certifications such as CSP, CHST, ASP, or similar are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
