The Opportunity:
The Maintenance Officer supports the Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM) in the delivery of Maintenance Management Services. The role contributes to the planning, administration, assurance and reporting of maintenance activities for PBS, ensuring alignment with the approved Services Management Plan, Maintenance Management Plan, and the requirements of the ASDEFCON (Complex Services) Statement of Work.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity and based in Sydney.
The successful candidate must hold a Baseline security clearance or higher.
Responsibilities:
Provide Maintenance Management support in line with approved sustainment and maintenance management plans (SMP/MMP).
Manage maintenance administration, ensuring accurate technical records, reporting, and configuration control in Defence systems (e.g. AMPS, MILIS/ERP).
Maintain and monitor maintenance schedules, work orders, servicing forecasts, and overall schedule adherence.
Support maintenance coordination activities, including Planning Conferences, Performance Reviews, and contract reporting requirements.
Assist with defect management processes, investigations, root cause analysis, and Requests for Problem Resolution.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support integrated sustainment, configuration management, and asset accountability.
Ensure compliance with quality, WHS, and environmental standards while contributing to continuous improvement and sustainment efficiency initiatives.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
A recognised vocational or technical qualification in engineering, maintenance, or a related trade discipline.
Relevant experience within Defence or maritime maintenance, asset management, or sustainment environments.
Working knowledge of Defence Maintenance and Configuration Management systems.
A solid understanding of maintenance planning, documentation, and reporting processes.
Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with desirable exposure to Defence sustainment contracts, IPS/ILS artefacts, and Quality/WHS frameworks.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
