Job Description

Job Purpose
The Automation Specialist serves as an expert in business operations with regard to automated processes. This position will perform assembly work, troubleshooting and basic maintenance on product in conjunction with operators and other related to Automation, GX & RMU’s. Monitor the operation of Automation production and assist operators on how to build and maintain the product effectively. The Automation specialist will suggest and support process improvements in order to achieve company objectives.

Job Context

The position is responsible to: 

Build / assembly Automation products meeting specifications and customer expectations, this includes reading schematics, preparing wiring looms, assembly work, design issue trouble shooting, programming, communication with UK based design teams.

Wiring of automation products, GX, RTU, RMU, being able to read drawings and assemble and testing to high wiring standards.

Set up / Support the daily operations of the plant operate and troubleshoot automation product SMART RTU / equipment and machinery to Identify, propose, and develop solutions for operational incidents. If unable to resolve, report issue to appropriate management and maintenance personnel and assist in the solution of the issue.

Responsible for the design, specification, installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation equipment in order to improve plant system operation/uptime and reduce total operating costs

Thoroughness and attention to detail are required as a significant amount of time will be spent working with complex PLC programs and advanced process control systems

Liaison with manufacturing engineering / automation design team to assist in operational specifications and serve as operational expert on finalized automated technologies.

Assist operations, maintenance, and automation groups with commissioning process for new equipment or technologies.

Perform basic maintenance on RTU / SMART equipment including preventative inspections.

Conduct on the job training with team members to ensure the safe production and general troubleshooting of Product.

Identify improvements in all areas of automation manufacturing processes using appropriate means of communication and work with necessary parties to implement.

Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) support any requirement from Customer 

Maintain a neat and orderly workplace.

Performs other duties as assigned to assist the company’s overall objectives

Performs routine record keeping as required. (Test Rig)

Examine materials and work for defects to ensure any nonconformance to specifications.

Work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, work orders and verbal instructions as required to complete tasks assigned.

Participate in team meetings and activities


Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Diploma and At least 5 years’ experience in Automation production environ preferably SMART industry. Or bachelor's degree in electronic / electrical engineering with 1 years work experience in electrical industry.

Strong working knowledge of local rules and regulations

Automated System Knowledge exposure, 

High English communication skills with the ability to communicate and guide business managers and UK design teams

Able to read schematic Electrical and electronic diagram 

Team player

Confident, proactive and customer focused approach 

Process driven with the ability to drive continuous improvement

Achieving defined key performance indicators for the above functions as decided by the management

To be an active member of operational team to manage the above tasks on daily basis

 

Additional but not necessary skills.

Able to basic/advance program of RTU (Configuration tool, upgrade firmware / SCADA, MODULE Configuration and Logic control).

Able to be working principle of RTU, LBS and RMU.

Responsibilities:
1) Operating Machine or Equipment: Operate various equipment and machines, adjusting one or more variables to achieve efficiency.
2) Equipment Maintenance and Repair : Help to maintain and repair equipment and appliances by carrying out preparations and providing assistance while following strict, detailed instructions.
3) Operations Management: Carry out operational tasks by following established processes. Involves working within given settings or parameters.
4) Quality Assurance: Perform relatively simple quality sampling and inspection of products or processes (or both).
5) Work Scheduling and Allocation: Work according to an assigned schedule.
6) Operational Compliance: Follow a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
7) Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow a range of mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
8) Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.


Educational Requirements: Lower Secondary School

General Experience Requirement: Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised (13 months to 3 years)
