Shipping Clerk 1

Job Summary

Prepare shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications. Check shipments for correct materials, part numbers, quantity, and piece counts.  Correctly pack and skid shipments, loading and bracing as required.  Prepare bills of lading and other required forms and shipment reports.

 

Function in the Job

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function

• Receive incoming materials checking to purchase orders or receiving slips. 
• Maintain records and prepare receiving reports. 
• Check quantity, type, size, part numbers, etc. to properly identify materials. 
• Using fork truck and/or overhead crane to load and unload trucks. 
• Store materials and issue same as required. 
• Maintain stock records. 
• Take inventory as directed.
