Senior Technical IT Consultant

 

YOUR IMPACT

In this customer-facing role, you will ensure the stability and performance of complex environments across Italy and EMEA while making a visible impact on customer success. By taking technical ownership and working directly on critical systems, you will solve high-impact issues and drive continuous improvement.

A key part of the role is close collaboration, primarily with Public Sector customers on-site in Rome (approximately three days per week). This allows you to build strong relationships, gain deep insight into real-world environments, and position yourself as a trusted technical expert with direct influence on outcomes—going beyond remote support to truly shape how systems perform and evolve.

 

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Deliver hands-on application support and troubleshooting for complex customer environments
  • Personally analyse, debug, and resolve incidents (this is not a coordination-only role)
  • Take end-to-end ownership by actively fixing issues and implementing improvements
  • Perform root cause analysis and system optimisation to improve stability and performance
  • Act as a key escalation point, working directly on complex technical problems
  • Collaborate with internal teams when needed, while remaining the main technical owner
  • Provide technical delivery for customers across Italy and the EMEA region

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on IT experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in technical support, AMS, or consulting
  • Strong technical expertise in:
    • Windows & Linux server environments
    • Oracle and MS SQL Server databases
    • Web/application servers (IIS, Tomcat)
  • Proven experience in:
    • Troubleshooting complex systems
    • Incident & problem management
    • Root cause analysis and system optimisation
    • Log analysis, debugging, and basic scripting/tooling
  • ITIL certification (required) and solid understanding of service management processes
  • Ability to:
    • Work independently on complex technical issues
    • Take full end-to-end ownership
    • Mentor and support junior consultants
  • Additional experience that will strengthen your profile:
    • Support or consulting experience with OpenText Content Management solutions
    • Cloud technologies
    • Kubernetes / containerisation
    • Exposure to AI-related technologies
  • Fluent Italian and English language skills, both written and spoken
