We are seeking a talented individual to join our Data Engineering team at Darwin. This role will be based in Cluj, Romania. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
- Design and implement data pipelines across multiple source and destination systems, utilising a variety of data technologies.
- Continuously improve data systems and ETL processes to enhance their reliability, accuracy, security and performance.
- Translate business and client requirements into end to end technology solutions.
- Manage and maintain the analytics platform, investigate bugs and issues, and ensure systems work as expected.
- Develop an expert understanding of how our data is structured and what insights can be derived from it.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external business stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- Discuss and document issues and solutions with team members in order to educate, collaborate and improve our knowledge and processes.
What you need to have:
- Ability to understand data quickly and clearly, manipulate it to obtain answers to questions or the cause of problems, and spot anomalies and trend changes.
- Good understanding of SQL scripting. You should feel confident writing your own queries to explore new datasets, synthesise information and execute accurate, efficient queries on large datasets.
- Basic understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with all levels and types of colleague.
- Ability to maintain discretion and deal appropriately with confidential information.
- Collaborative, willing to learn and willing to help others.
What makes you stand out?
- Knowledge of git version control and collaborative development practices.
- Experience with Python, PowerShell or C#.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS or GCP)
- Experience translating business and client requirements into technology solutions.
- Understanding of application development lifecycle delivery. (Requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment and monitoring.)
- Curious, self-driven and analytical approach.
