
Office Engineer - Aviation
Job Description
Ramos CS, now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is actively hiring an Office Engineer for the CTA Curbside Improvement Program at LAWA. The Office Engineer will provide a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support. Supports the project management team (project manager, assistant PM, construction manager, design manager, etc.).
The CTA Curbside Improvement Program focuses on the Arrivals curbside are around the entire Central Terminal Area (CTA), from entry doors of the terminals out to the outer island pick up zone. The scope of the project encompasses a comprehensive range of improvements from curbside out to the garage facades and the landscape zones in between. It is intended to enhance the look and feel of LAX and reflect a modern, safe, and iconic vision of our airport. These combined efforts aim to elevate the overall passenger and visitor experience while adhering to stringent safety, security, and sustainability standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittals.
- Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into PM Web, and prepare management information status report, as required.
- Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web, the project information system.
- Maintain project files and document / submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies).
- Work with the Contractor(s) to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to Contractor(s).
- Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.
- Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as: attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log, etc.
Qualifications
- 5 years of more experience, preferable on airport projects.
- Experience with projects more than $50 million in value.
- Experience with various delivery methofs, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other related field required.
- Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional license or certifications.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $85,000 to $125,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
