Job Description
Angel is changing the future of entertainment and is one of the fastest-growing distributors in America. Our rapidly expanding library of light-amplifying stories has grown 10x in under 2 years. Gone is the old model where the deepest pockets pick the stories we share. Angel restores choice to our 2+ million Guild members (and growing!) who decide what we produce, what we take to theaters, and most importantly what filmmakers bring to life. Opportunity
The Product and Engineering leadership team is growing fast—and with that growth comes a real need for someone who can keep things moving behind the scenes. This role sits at the intersection of operations, finance, and team coordination, supporting both the VP of Engineering and the Head of Product.
This isn’t a passive support role. You’ll own high-stakes responsibilities like tracking every dollar of tech spend across the company, managing the R&D Tax Credit process (which has historically saved Angel millions), and making sure the product team’s weekly rituals actually run on time.
Why Join Angel?
High-Growth Company
Angel is one of the fastest-growing media companies, with record-breaking independent theatrical releases and millions of streaming users worldwide.
Extreme Ownership
We are a team of owners and entrepreneurs. You’ll have real accountability over processes that matter to the company’s bottom line.
Future of Entertainment
Help build the product layer that empowers families to safely enjoy the best stories ever told and change what entertainment looks like for the next generation.
What You'll Do
You’ll be the connective tissue across two fast-moving leadership tracks (product and engineering) keeping operations running cleanly so leadership can stay focused on strategy and execution
You will:
- Finance and cost management: Own tech spend tracking, vendor contract reviews, and the annual R&D Tax Credit process across the org.
- Product team operations: Keep weekly product meetings running and ensure the roadmap stays current and accountable.
- Communications and meeting logistics: Coordinate leadership comms and make sure company meetings are prepped, staffed, and followed up on.
- Team experience and travel: Coordinate on-sites, conferences, screenings, and team events from booking through execution.
- Org systems and executive support: Manage leadership inboxes, keep org data (Paycom, Slack, Lucid) in sync, and surface what matters.
What Success Looks Like
- Leadership describes you as someone who “just handles it”—with high judgment and zero drama.
- The daily and weekly operations of the Product team run smoothly; meetings start with full context and end with clear follow-ups that get closed; cross-functional teams are in the know of plans, commitments, and deliverables.
- Tech spend is tracked, categorized, and reviewed weekly; no contracts fly under the radar.
- Vendor negotiations, hiring pipelines and other administrative tasks run on time with minimal escalation to leadership.
What You'll Need
- Extreme follow-through: You have systems for tracking open items and you close loops without being reminded.
- Financial fluency: Comfortable reading a P&L, categorizing software spend, and spotting when costs are misaligned. You don’t need to be an accountant, but you need to care about the numbers.
- Strong written communication: Able to write clearly on behalf of senior leaders across Slack, email, and company-wide announcements. Tone-matching is a must.
- High judgment and discretion: You’ll have visibility into sensitive financials, leadership conversations, and vendor negotiations. Trustworthiness is non-negotiable.
- Process-orientation: You like building clean systems out of messy situations and maintaining them over time.
- Affinity for Technology: You feel at home in a software team. You pick up new tools quickly, can comfortably review a technology contract, and are a wizard in spreadsheets and crunching numbers. You navigate conversations with engineers with enough context to track what matters and move things forward without getting lost. We'll train you, but you'll need to feel like a native.
- AI fluency: Exceptional use of AI tools (Claude, etc.) to move faster on research, drafts, and follow-up. This is a baseline expectation, not a nice-to-have.
- Comfort with ambiguity: This role spans two leaders, multiple teams, and a wide range of responsibilities. You’ll need to self-direct and prioritize without constant guidance.
Required Experience
- 3+ years in an operations, executive assistant, technical project management or adjacent role
- Experience managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to track and follow up on open action items across a team
- Experience handling confidential financial or organizational information
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Experience supporting senior leaders in a tech or media company
- Familiarity with SaaS cost management or software procurement
- Background in product or engineering environments
