Job Description

The Dean of Students will oversee the overall functions of student management and student attendance issues.  Other administrative needs and processes may also be assigned. This is a full-time, or 1.0 FTE, position.
The Career and Technical Education Business Instructor will further the implementation of 27J Schools Career and Technical Education programs at the high school level. The instructor will provide
instruction in the MBA High School of Business


Responsibilities: 

  • Manage student supervision issues and enforce school behavioral expectations.
  • Counsel students and parents about school and district policies.
  • Assist staff and parents in developing student behavioral expectations.
  • Assist in the planning, developing and implementing of individual student behavior plans.
  • Serve as a resource to staff in dealing with classroom management issues.
  • Assist in developing programs to promote positive student behavior as well as intervention strategies.
  • Coordinate alternative education placement for students.
  • Confers appropriate consequences for behavior issues.
  • Assist with staff evaluations as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

  1. Three years successful teaching or prior job related experience with increasing levels of responsibilities in a school setting.
  2. Must have a valid Colorado teaching license.
  3. Ability to provide direction to others and make independent judgments.
  4. Keep and maintain accurate records.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, staff and other individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds, in both oral and written form.
  6. The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)
  7. The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).
  8. A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.

Other information:

CTE Teachers must ensure that their programs meet and are operated in accordance with State Board-approved standards
for quality Career And Technical Education as determined in the program approval process. CTE teachers will provide
information necessary to complete and maintain an approved program.
This includes:

  1. Obtaining and updating an appropriate CTE Teaching License.
  2. Annually conducting two Technical Advisory Committee meetings.
  3. Sponsoring a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO).
  4. Submitting an annual CTE Program Quality Action Plan, and follow up student surveys.
  5. Participating in recruitment and student enrollment activities.
  6. Supporting work based learning, student completion of industry certificate and seamless transition to post
    secondary education.

CTE Program Lead Teachers are eligible to receive a CTE stipend for the fulfillment of the above work. CTE Program Lead
Teachers may receive up to $6,000 annually for establishing and maintaining their CTE program.
