Reporting to the Project Engineering Superintendent, Capital Projects you will be part of the Projects Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. 

• Assist the Capital Projects Manager with the execution of the capital Projects (Electrical) portfolio; 
• Collaborate and manage engineering firms to complete detailed engineering for projects; 
• Participate in constructability and design reviews including drawings, P&IDs, project instructions and specifications; 
• Provide technical resource to site electrical infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning; 
• Provide input and support to the construction team during execution; 
• Lead site-based capital projects throughout the project development process; 
• In collaboration with the project sponsors, conceptual ideas, project scopes, technical feasibility reviews; 
• Develop and review engineering specifications, drawings, and technical documentation as needed; 
• Support the development of  project estimates and provide technical support for the development of business cases. 
• Collaborate with the procurement group to execute scopes of work, tenders, technical bid evaluations and assist with general contracts management; 
• Lead the development of  project schedules in alignment with the business requirements; 
• In collaboration with the Projects Cost Controller, manage project costs, review actuals to date provide forecasts, cost deviation and recommend remedial actions to stay on budget. 
• Interface with vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies as needed.

• Post-secondary education in engineering – electrical; 
• 10+ years of experience in mine electrical construction projects including infrastructure, power transmission, substations, medium to high voltage equipment, control system, large battery storage, etc; 
• P. Eng designation; 
• PMP designation is considered an asset; 
• A good knowledge of Ontario energy and power systems is considered an asset; 
• Knowledge of the Ontario mining and construction regulations; 
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, PLC programming tools) is considered an asset; 
• Knowledge of SCADA, DCS, and other control platforms is considered an asset; 
• Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset; 

• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint. 

   

• 4/3, 4/3, schedule at our Detour Lake Mine; 
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
