Job Description

Your mission

The Global Partnerships Lead provides strategic leadership for War Child Alliance’s global partnerships portfolio, ensuring the development of impactful, long‑term programme collaborations that enable the rollout and scaling of Evidence Based Methods (EBMs) in line with the WCA global strategy. The role drives the acquisition of new programme partners, maintains strategic oversight of global partnership systems, and ensures that multi‑stakeholder initiatives deliver high‑quality, sustainable results. 

What you will do: 
  • Lead the vision and strategy for global partnerships to support the scaling of EBMs and alignment with WCA’s global priorities. 
  • Identify, cultivate and steward high‑value global partnerships, ensuring strong relationship management, strategic alignment and shared programme objectives. 
  • Contribute to defining the structure and vision of the new partnerships and programme management department. 
  • Oversee quality assurance, planning, progress, budget and governance of complex partnership‑driven programmes to ensure sustainability, coherence and impact. 
  • Strengthen partnership engagement models, co‑creation processes, and scaling systems informed by localisation principles and contextual needs. 
  • Contribute to multi‑year resource mobilisation strategies and collaborate with Fundraising Members and IFGD to secure funding for partnership-led scaling. 
  • Lead and coach the partnership team, fostering well‑being, accountability, skills development and a strong, inclusive team culture. 
  • Contribute to alignment, effective coordination and learning with other partnership teams within the Partnership and Programme management department. 
  •  Ensure continuous learning and cross‑team coordination with EBM/technical, MEAL, Humanitarian, , , Programme Operations, Research & Development  teams. 
  • Represent WCA in strategic forums to position War Child as a leader in partnership‑driven scaling Lead creative, context‑aware approaches to partnership challenges that accelerate the scaling of EBMs and enhance programme effectiveness 
 
ROLE-SPECIFIC OR CONTEXT RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Oversees the global portfolio of programme partnerships that enable EBM rollout across multiple countries and contexts. 
  • Acts as the strategic liaison for high‑level global partners. 
  • Ensures alignment and cross-team coordination and learning between global and other partnership teams in Partnership and Programme management department. 
  • Ensures partnership strategy and systems support the contextualisation, adaptation and expansion of multiple EBMs across regions. 
  • Ensures embedding of localisation principles in scaling systems and supports adaptation to partner capacities. 
  • Office-based but requires periodic travel to partner-led programmes for strategic engagement, quality assurance and relationship management.

Your profile

Education 
  • Relevant degree in International Development,  Project Management or related field.
Experience 
  • Extensive experience in partnership management or related programme leadership roles; 
  • Experience in the humanitarian sector collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including INGOs, UN agencies, and local partners.
  • Experience  inchild protection, MHPSS, education or similar fields; 
  • Experience in scaling and innovation.
  • Experience in resource mobilization.
Languages 
  • Fluent English; working knowledge of French, Arabic and/or Spanish desirable.
(Technical) Knowledge 
  • Child-focused humanitarian programming; 
  • Partnership management; 
  • Scaling systems, localisation 
  • Programme design &management and quality

What we offer

  • Location : We work with global teams with team members being based in different locations. War Child is currently operates in: Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Colombia, DR Congo, Germany, Jordan, Lebanon, the occupied Palestinian territory, South Sudan, Sweden, Syria, Uganda, Ukraine (soon to be registered), and Yemen. We also have offices in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Preference is given to applicants who reside and have valid working permits. War Child does not offer relocation.
  • Type of Contract : Local contract with salary and secondary labour conditions based on the in-country salary scale, local T&C's will apply.
