Job Summary
We are seeking an Marketing Manager to join our Standards Marketing team. This role plays a critical part in advancing the growth and impact of CSA Group’s Standards organization, ultimately leading to a safer world.
The key responsibility of this role will be to develop and manage marketing programs aligned to an annual strategic marketing plan. The Marketing Manager will develop and execute integrated marketing and communications initiatives, with a focus on Public Policy, Government Relations, and Membership.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external parties to deliver plans and tactics for your portfolio (Public Policy, Government Relations, and Membership).
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the development and execution of annual strategic marketing and communications plans aligned with Standards strategic objectives, with a portfolio focus on Public Policy, Government Relations, and Membership.
- Lead integrated, omnichannel marketing campaigns from planning through execution
- Regularly collaborate closely with Public Policy, Government Relations, and Membership teams to understand their objectives and priorities, and lead creative development of aligned marketing and communications plans, campaigns, messaging, collateral, and value propositions.
- Develop compelling value propositions for key audiences, including government and advocacy stakeholders
- Drive Member recruitment, engagement and retention campaigns
- Support the planning and execution of key recurring CSA Group marquee events, including the CSA Policy Pathways Conference, in collaboration with the Public Policy team.
- Support the planning and execution of the CSA Group Annual Conference and Committee Week for members, in collaboration with the Membership Services team.
- Collaborate with the Government Relations team to support participation in relevant government events and meetings, including coordinating collateral and working with the Standards Events Marketing Associate.
- Manage departmental budget and recommend spending activity based on strategic objectives.
- Establish budget forecasts aligning with plan activity & reconcile forecasted spend vs. actual each month.
- Define KPIs & measurement plan based on strategic objectives.
- Analyze ROI, report on marketing and communications performance, and outline key areas of opportunity with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Identify gaps and make recommendations for marketing programs to meet required business objectives.
- Be a subject matter expert of the respective portfolio including in-depth knowledge of Standards Development, Government Relations, Public Policy, Membership, and their respective market conditions and competitive landscapes.
- Collaborate with organizational counterparts to drive fully integrated campaigns and find ways to help integrate key areas (Membership, Government Relations, Public Policy) into other Standards campaigns across the marketing and communications team.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities using strong project management practices
- Work with internal teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality outputs
- Deliver excellent service to internal and external stakeholders
- Champion CSA Group’s brand and drive creative excellence
Preferred Education and Experience
- College/university degree in marketing, business administration and/or equivalent experience in a marketing role.
- Demonstrable interest in and understanding of Canadian public policy, government, and regulatory environments
- 7+ years of B2B marketing experience
- A seasoned professional with experience in strategic marketing and tactic implementation
- Proven experience in marketing to government or public sector audiences is an asset
- Experience in non-profit or standards-related organizations is an asset

- Up-to-date knowledge of marketing trends and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, implement change, and influence without formal authority
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
Work Environment
- Regular office environment.
- In office at least 3 days a week.
- Occasional travel within North America (<10%) to attend meetings and support key events
- Dynamic work environment with shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and competing demands

- Frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders and vendors
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines and accommodate time zones
The typical hiring range for this position is $86,160 - $113,090 CAD gross annually. However, based on a variety of considerations (such as education, licenses, certifications and/or experience,) CSA Group reserves the right to flexibility outside of the stated range.
