Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Machinist to join our Model Machine Shop team. In this role you will play a key part in delivering world-class components in a fast-paced, high-performance motorsport environment.  This role requires precision, professionalism, and a proactive mindset, with a strong focus on quality, deadlines, and continuous improvement. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture accurate, high-quality metallic components to deadline, fully de-burred and to specification.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC and/or manual machine tools to produce complex, tight-tolerance parts.
  • Ensure all machined components meet dimensional, surface finish, quality, timing, and performance requirements.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies for different metallic materials.
  • Identify and resolve machining issues. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date ERP system transactions, including job tracking and time booking.
  • Support Quality Assurance activities, including first-off inspection and in-process checks 
  • Ensure clear and effective communication between shifts.
  • Participate proactively in team meetings and departmental reviews.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet workload demands during peak production periods.
  • Maintain and develop machining skills in line with current industry best practice and motorsport standards.
  • Work responsibly within company procedures, reporting structures, and Health & Safety requirements.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  •  Proven experience as a Machinist working primarily with metallic materials in a high-precision environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of CNC machining (3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis milling and/or turning).
  • Excellent understanding of metallic machining processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of work holding, fixturing, datum setting, and component alignment for metallic parts 
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and tight tolerance requirements 
  • Experience machining low-volume, high-complexity components to motorsport or aerospace-level standards 
  • Confident using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, bore gauges, CMM data, surface finish measurement) 
  • Results-driven with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills 
  • Calm, methodical, and confident under pressure, with a strong focus on delivery and quality 
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to positively influence others within the team 
  • Flexible approach to working hours during busy periods. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a high-performing team 
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and capable of building strong working relationships 
  • Clear commitment to Health & Safety best practice
