The ideal candidate will be qualified in Sweden, have a strong background working at leading Swedish law firms, and possess excellent knowledge of merger control. Our Practice Areas
Our EU Law practice is a highly integrated, multi-disciplinary group, working seamlessly across our global network to deliver deep industry expertise and comprehensive legal solutions. We advise a broad spectrum of clients – including corporations, investment banks, partnerships, trade associations, information exchanges, and individuals – on the full range of EU Law matters, often involving complex, cross-border mandates.
Our competition team is consistently recognized by Chambers, Global Competition Review, and other leading directories as one of the world’s premier competition practices. We have handled some of the most significant multijurisdictional antitrust matters in recent years.
We are also at the forefront of emerging areas of EU law, with thriving practices in fields such as the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, the Digital Markets Act, the Digital Services Act, and the evolving landscape of ESG regulation. Our team has pre-eminent experience litigating before the Court of Justice and the General Court of the EU, handling cases ranging from major competition law disputes to intricate regulatory challenges.
From day one, you will work directly with partners and interact with colleagues across our international offices and practice groups. Given the cross-border nature of our work, you will regularly collaborate with lawyers from our global offices and may have opportunities for international travel.
The Roles and Responsibilities of this job include:
Drafting legal memoranda, Court pleadings or regulatory submissions with minimum supervision, ensuring diligence, precision, and attention to detail
Coordinating and reviewing the work of more junior lawyers, providing guidance and feedback on their work
Independently anticipating roadblocks and options and suggest ideas to solve issues
Playing an active role in communications with clients
Proactively manage the case to ensure timely delivery
Deepening your and others’ knowledge and skills across different practice areas and contributing to the shared knowledge of the practice
Assists in developing case strategies by analyzing legal issues and contributing to strategy discussions with senior lawyers and partners
Manages case files, organizing case materials, and ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met
May co-ordinate work of more junior members of the team
Helps coach and develop more junior lawyers
Qualifications and Skills
Membership of an EEA Bar is required; qualification with the Swedish Bar is highly regarded.
3–5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a top-tier international or strong Swedish law firm
Experience handling complex legal tasks and contributing to the resolution of key legal matters
Excellent research, drafting and analytical skills
Solid communication and collaboration skills
