The Opportunity
Senior Manager Specimen Bank
Location: AP20: Abbott Park, Illinois
The Senior Manager Specimen Bank serves as the Principal Investigator and leads daily operations for the internal biospecimen collection across U.S. sites. In this roe, you will drive strategic expansion of the Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved internal collection to include additional sites and broader participant pools, aiming to reduce biospecimen costs and support research, clinical studies, and product development. This role oversees site leads, providing leadership and technical expertise in biobanking practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning operations with strategic research objectives including product submissions.
What You'll Do
- Manages biobank teams; assists with hiring, coaching, training, and motivating personnel to meet departmental needs
- Oversees Internal Specimen Collection Program adherence as Principal Investigator — ensuring all internal collection studies comply with regulations, including Informed Consent
- Oversees specimen procurement, receipt, processing and cataloguing of samples, ensuring adherence to IRB limitations, data privacy, and validated inventory systems
- Oversight of sample storage conditions for biobanking, including temperature control, equipment maintenance, and inventory management
- Functions as point person for identifying and collaborating with new vendors and research partners in contract development and negotiation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences
- Minimum 2 years of Management experience
- Minimum 10 years: Biobanking, clinical research, or specimen management within IVD industry, a laboratory, or clinical environment

The base pay for this position is
$129,300.00 – $258,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
