Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to work in our Fairfax, VA office.
Once accounts and access have been granted, this position will also require attendance in our Arlington, VA* office. Must have at least an active Secret clearance in order to be considered for the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: Linux Red Hat, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS components (Lambda, IAM, Load Balancers, RDS, CloudFormation, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SageMaker, Bedrock).
ECS is seeking Cloud Engineers to work in Fairfax, VA and various government locations supporting the development and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Solutions for a DoD customer.
ECS is an expert technology firm focused on Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud solutions as an AWS Premier Partner, Audited AWS Managed Service Partner and AWS Reseller. We specialize in migrating custom developed and COTS applications into AWS and offering a complete suite of managed service solutions for our customers to include design, architecture, DevOps, systems administration, big data, security, and 24x7 cloud support services.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Certified Cloud Engineer to join our team in supporting a large DoD program that operates and maintains multiple AWS GovCloud, Azure, and classified cloud environments to take advantage of the many benefits offered by commercial cloud hosting, such as the ability to accelerate IT delivery, efficiency, and innovation.
This position will support client teams developing or enriching applications in the cloud, as well as providing core cloud services maintenance and support in both classified and unclassified environments, with the goal of providing a stable, secure, flexible, efficient, and cost effective CSO.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor and manage security compliance, remediations and patch management for both classified and unclassified environments. Evaluate customer issues and make educated decisions on technologies, tools and the overall delivery strategy.
- Evaluating and implementing proof of concept solutions that fits the need of the platform and client requirements
- Leverage best practices to deploy and monitor deployments, facilitate management oversight, and put in place detection, incident-response, and mitigation practices to minimize and rapidly resolve discovered anomalies
- Periodically review and evaluate project progress and planned goals to anticipate development of new solutions, architecture designs, configuration-management practices, business intelligence, and technical documentation
- Have a solid understanding of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP Cloud Services, Network Infrastructure, Security Capabilities, Storage Solutions, Database Services/Tooling and Identity & Access Management capabilities to be able to engage with technical and non-technical leadership as well as product owners
- Participate in status meetings on progress, priorities, issues, performance issues, and future work
- Thrive in a hybrid environment (split between on-site and remote), able to be on-site at 3-4 days as required to support customer and mission requirements.
- Successfully communicate to customers, program managers, industry partners, and Government representatives.
*The job is initially located in Fairfax, VA. Once access and accounts have been granted, this position will move between Fairfax, VA and Arlington, VA dependent on requirement.
