The Role

  • We are looking for an Accounts Assistant – External Reporting to join our Central Finance team.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of Lloyd’s market reporting, supporting the delivery of regulatory and financial reporting using modern reporting tools and large-scale financial datasets. You will gain exposure to multiple reporting frameworks while working closely with internal teams and managing agents across the Lloyd’s market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse syndicate submissions, identifying trends and raising queries with managing agents
  • Support the preparation of Lloyd’s UK Solvency II reporting, including submissions to the PRA and the Solvency and Financial Condition Report
  • Assist in delivering UK GAAP financial reporting, including aggregation of market results
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet regulatory reporting requirements
  • Respond to queries from the Lloyd’s market, ensuring clear and professional communication
  • Support reporting cycles and delivery of external reporting outputs
  • Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and testing of reporting tools
  • Escalate emerging issues and risks to senior team members where appropriate

Skills:

  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to work effectively with large datasets
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Excel and IT skills, with ability to learn new reporting systems
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and support solutions
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

 

Knowledge & experience:

  • Understanding of financial reporting and internal controls
  • Awareness of the Lloyd’s market and its reporting environment (desirable)
  • Exposure to UK Solvency II and/or UK GAAP reporting is advantageous

Qualifications

  • Newly qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
