Job Description

Your reporting lines You report to the Business Controls Manager for the CIO division. Your key stakeholders include the leadership team of the CIO, as well as Internal Audit and second-line risk and compliance professionals across Great Southern Bank. Your responsibilities You are part of a team of risk professionals who are responsible for partnering with key stakeholders on all risk, obligation and control matters, providing risk expertise in the identification and assessment of risk, obligations and controls to support business objectives. This will include: Contributing to the maintenance of an up to date and fit for purpose divisional risk profile. Supporting risk and control identification, risk assessments and managing risk acceptances. Monitoring risk appetite, KRIs, thresholds and triggers. Supporting the identification of new / emerging risks and regulatory change impacting the business. Contributing to risk reporting activities within the CIO division and risk committees as required. Performing control design and operating effectiveness testing and providing practical recommendations for improvement. Supporting the assessment of incidents, including incident / breach investigation (root cause analysis), and making recommendations on mitigating actions and control improvement. Ensuring the CIO Business Continuity Plan remains up to date and fit for purpose, and supporting the execution of annual testing. Promoting a positive Risk Culture throughout your sphere of influence, through education and modelling appropriate behaviours. Your qualifications and experience Degree in Information Technology or related discipline. Member of professional Risk Management and/or Governance Associations. Minimum 2 years’ experience in risk management or controls testing (internal/external audit) with a strong understanding of operational risk and compliance in the financial services industry. Knowledge of relevant financial services industry standards, acts, codes and legislation (e.g., APRA, Consumer Credit Code, Credit Union Code of Practice, Privacy Act, Trade Practices Act, FSRA). Experience in Retail Banking highly desirable Experience in data analysis and/or artificial intelligence is highly desirable
