Job Function: Operations  Job Family: Production      SUMMARY:    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Electro/Mechanical Assembler is responsible for completing manufacturing assignments as directed by the Production Supervisor or Manager.  Typical duties and tasks to be completed in compliance with the requirements of Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) per current GMP’s, QSR and company policies and procedures.   Establish good relationships with fellow colleagues in order to work in a team environment. Coordinate their work tasks to effectively meet the daily production output requirements. Develop a systematic way of ensuring a consistent level of quality and output.  Manage the workspace to comply with the 6S process. Assembly medical devices as per manufacturing instructions Input into ERP system hours worked and any operational information for the work orders. Follow all Quality System procedures related to this job, which can affect the quality of products or services provided to our customers. And other duties as assigned.           Travel Required:  (minimal, moderate, extensive) – Minimal <5%.           Education and/or Experience            Level I   High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Abilities and Behavior Individual must be punctual and have reliable attendance Individual must be cooperative and willing to work in a team environment Must be able to follow direction provided by authorized supervision/leader Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Must be willing and able to learn different jobs in the manufacturing environment (cross training) Must be able to perform repetitive task(s) consistently and proficiently Must be able to speak and read English with excellent understanding Must be able to keep legible and correct documentation of activities Must be proficient in tasks performed (after suitable training period) and have attention to detail       Language Skills              Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, assembly drawings, short correspondence and emails.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.       Mathematical Skills         MINIMUM       Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.     Reasoning Ability       Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.    Other Skills and Abilities       Tools, Equipment and other items: Microscopes Fiber optic polishing equipment Balance scales, printers, timers, water baths, ovens/vacuum chambers, freezers and stir/heat plates Packaging & Sealing equipment Use of urethane and epoxy adhesives and associated glue delivery systems/hand tools Compressed gases, including nitrogen and helium Automatic & Semi-automatic electronic measuring/analysis equipment Soldering equipment Small hand tools; including tweezers, clamps, cutting tools, solder guns, etc. Appropriate PPE/clothing for medical device manufacturing clean room environment Other equipment as necessary to support manufacturing operations             Computer Software Microsoft Office Microsoft Outlook ERP systems a plus     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is (sometimes, regularly, frequently) required to:             - sit, walk, stand - regularly             - use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls - frequently             - reach with hands and arms, sometimes overhead - sometimes             - stoop, kneel - sometimes             - talk or hear - regularly             - taste or smell - sometimes   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.  The employee is sometimes required to work at a keyboard and computer.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.   The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, sometimes lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.   Specific vision abilities required by this job include (close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus).   WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee (sometimes, regularly, frequently) works: near moving mechanical parts - sometimes and is (sometimes, regularly, frequently) exposed to: fumes or airborne particles - sometimes toxic or caustic chemicals - occasionally risk of electrical shock - sometimes
