Job Description
Are you a detail-driven Payroll & Benefits Administrator who takes pride in accuracy, compliance, and supporting employees through critical moments? Our organization is seeking a high-caliber professional to administer payroll, benefits, workplace injuries, and leave administration. This position is a fully onsite vacancy based out of our Courtice head office.
Responsibilities
Administer accurate and timely bi-weekly hourly and salary multi-province payroll for 400 employees, ensuring compliance with legislation
Maintain employee payroll data including new hires, terminations, leaves, and compensation changes
Review and validate time and attendance data
Prepare ROEs, statutory remittances, and year-end filings (T4s, RL-1s, EHT, T2200s, WSIB/CNESST)
Administer employee benefit and group retirement programs, including enrollments and changes
Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries with professionalism and discretion, providing exceptional customer service
Administration of short-term and long-term leaves, as well as Workers’ Compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, and return-to-work coordination
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external providers to support safe and timely accommodations
Support annual compensation cycles by preparing reports and materials
Deliver benefits onboarding and education sessions to employees
Maintain accurate records and prepare payroll, benefits, compensation, and absence-related reports
Support audits and continuous process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
Post-Secondary diploma/degree with an accounting/payroll focus or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, and employment legislation
Hands-on experience with an integrated HRIS/payroll system (Ceridian Dayforce preferred)
Experience managing leaves of absence and statutory disability applications
Strong working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook, and high level of proficiency in MS Excel for data reconciliation, forecasting, and reporting, as required
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation completed or in progress is an asset
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Highly organized with strong planning and prioritization skills
Strong critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills
Proven ability to navigate a variety of tasks, while maintaining an optimistic attitude
Works effectively as part of a dynamic team and contributes to a positive team environment
Other Considerations:
Background checks including criminal checks, employment references, and driver's abstracts will be requested
Applicants who are interviewed for this position will receive a notification regarding the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date
Expected hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually (exact annual salary offered to the successful applicant will be determined by the candidate's experience, education, related knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
