BBVA’s Corporate Lending Middle East team is seeking a motivated Senior Analyst in an exciting opportunity to support the origination, structuring, and execution of corporate lending transactions for corporate and financial institution clients across the Middle East region. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role is embedded within the regional platform and plays an integral role in the delivery of live transactions across the full transaction lifecycle.

The Senior Analyst will work closely with the senior originator and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on transactions including syndicated and bilateral loans, acquisition financings, and sustainable finance solutions. The primary geographic focus will be the Middle East loan market, with opportunities to expand coverage across the broader region over time.


The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop deep expertise in corporate lending within a dynamic and growing Middle East platform of a sizable international bank, with progressively broader exposure to transaction origination, structuring, and execution as experience and responsibilities expand.

About the job:

Key Responsibilities

  • Support corporate lending transactions across all stages of the deal lifecycle, including credit analysis and due diligence, pitch preparation, term sheet development, financial model review, loan structuring, and documentation, contributing to high-quality deal delivery.

  • Conduct market, industry, and company research to generate insights that support credit, pricing, and structuring decisions.

  • Maintain and analyze precedent and comparable transaction data to support market intelligence, deal origination and strategic decisions.

  • Prepare and present proposals to business and credit committees for deal approvals.

  • Draft, review, and coordinate loan and syndication documentation, including term sheets, mandate letters, facility agreements, fee letters, and information memoranda.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams – including Coverage, Risk, Loan Syndicate and Sales, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Sustainable Finance, Operations – as well as external stakeholders such as clients, partner banks and legal counsel to ensure smooth and timely transaction execution.

  • Manage transaction closings, including documentation execution, internal loan booking, and the preparation of internal and external case studies and post-deal analyses.

  • Prepare management presentations and pipeline activity reports.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit standards, filing requirements, and documentation procedures for all completed transactions.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in execution and structuring of syndicated corporate loans or a related role within corporate or investment banking.

  • Preference for existing experience and familiarity with the GCC region, in terms of borrowers and hands on deal executions.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good understanding of the Middle East syndicated loan markets and industry best practices.

  • Hands-on experience in corporate loan origination and execution, with familiarity with loan documentation.

  • Strong credit, financial modeling and risk analysis skills.

  • Well organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills.

  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and accountable.

  • Proactive self-starter with commercial awareness and a client-focused mindset.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Bloomberg, LoanConnector.

  • Willingness and aptitude to learn new technologies, including AI tools.

Languages

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

  • Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
