The impact you’ll make
As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.
What You’ll Do
This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India, and closely working with Supplier and Global stakeholders (Supply Chain, Product Group, Manufacturing). This individual would be responsible for driving India Ano supplier qualification, supporting strategical projects, continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and meet Project/Quality metrics of Surface Treatment and Coatings commodity (STACC). Individual’s primary job responsibilities are listed below:
- Take lead in assessing STACC commodity suppliers for capability, capacity, quality systems, and compliance with industry standards. Support supplier audits and qualification processes
- Collaborate with suppliers to understand, develop, refine, and optimize Ano line processes to meet Lam BKM requirements. Guide the supplier in establishing the POR/WI/OMS, Operating procedures to document and follow the correct process every time.
- Understand and drive data analysis using SPC tools to help in interpreting the correct data and share the recommendations to the commodity to make faster decisions on the DOE's and line qualification.
- Support Global SE in Providing technical support to suppliers on STACC commodity best practices. Troubleshoot process and product-related issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Support in Maintaining the accurate documentation of supplier qualifications, process specifications, test procedures, and quality records.
- Support commodity projects like regionalization, dual sourcing, new supplier qualifications and obtains CFT approvals thru design reviews. Support on commodity initiatives like NCe reduction programs to improve the supplier quality.
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelors /Masters in Chemical Engineering/Metallurgy/Material science
Work experience of min. 8 years for Bachelor’s degree and min. 6 years of experience for Master degree.
- Hands on experience in surface treatment process such as anodizing, precision cleaning, contamination control, material analysis, preferably in the semiconductor industry, He should understand the line layout, tanks involved, multiple parameters involved in controlling the anodization thickness and quality,
- Should have the knowledge on Ano masking process and different materials used in masking process
- Should be able to understand the Ano sub processes like CCC, Brush Ni, etc.
- The ability to read drawings (with understanding of ASME Y14.5) required, He should be able to interpret the Ano requirements by understanding the masking, half masking, Ano thickness, conductive surfaces, etc. through the standard notes and symbols.
- Good in understanding the different failure modes of surface treatment process and drive holistic failure analysis through problem solving tools like Fishbone, why why analysis, 8D etc.
- Good knowledge of SPC tools to perform data analysis to convert DOE/coupon test run data into charts, box plots, etc. to help in interpreting the results accurately.
- Good project management skills to take lead in tracking and driving the project to execution using the effective tools to meet aligned timeline.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Desirable skills
- Knowledge on Material analysis, understanding of Metal microstructure, Chemical composition
- Knowledge on different Surface treatment and coatings processes,
- Knowledge on manufacturing advance materials like Ceramics, Quartz, Alumina, etc.
- Basics of 8D and Project Management skills
