Job Description

Job Id:  545 # of Openings:  1
2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

The Atlanta Athletic Club (AAC) is a prestigious private 36‑hole facility located 25 miles north of Atlanta. Founded in 1898 by a group of young professionals seeking a place to enjoy both indoor and outdoor athletics, the Club has continued to grow and evolve over its long history. Originally established downtown on Edgewood Avenue, AAC expanded over the decades, adding a golf course and country club at East Lake in 1915 before relocating to its current Johns Creek location in the late 1960's. The Club has been home to many great athletes, most notably Bobby Jones.

AAC has hosted multiple major championships, most recently the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and 2025 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship and continues its strong partnership with the USGA.

Upcoming events include:
  • 2030 U.S. Men’s Amateur
  • 2035 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship
In January 2022, the Riverside Course underwent a complete rebuild and redesign under architect Tripp Davis, including installation of a full HDPE irrigation system, sand‑capped fairways and tees, extensive drainage improvements, and architectural reshaping. In 2027, the Highlands course will undergo a complete rebuild and redesign under the direction of architect Andrew Green. This will include an all HDPE irrigation system, installation of 50+ miles of sub surface drainage, and a significant redesign of the 55-year-old course.
