Key Responsibilities:

Finance Assistant will ensure smooth functioning of day to day finance & accounting operations of KOICA MNCH project in compliance with WVI Partnership standard, Donor and Government statutory requirements.  This position is to ensure that the grants expenses are recorded and reported with accuracy and correctness, ensuring grant requirements and standards. This position will work under supervision of Senior Finance Officer.

This is a fixed-term post for two years based in Eastern Visayas.

Major Responsibilities:

Finance Service

  • Ensure good financial services for KOICA project include all payments are made on time as per grant requirement and recorded in Finance system.
  • Ensure all project expenses, including expenses of partners, follow World Vision’s policies and KOICA grant guidelines.

Filing

  • Working on the coping all transaction documents and financial documents.
  • Making files for the review of KOICA and WV Korea.
  • Ensure filing of vouchers and supporting documents of grant expenses in order to make them readily available for reference and audits.

Support Grant Operation

  • Support Senior Grant Finance Officer to ensure financial transactions are valid and authentic, and that support documentations are adequate, complete and compliant with donor requirements.
  • Prepare cash request for grant projects to ensure that project has sufficient fund to use within the month and meet target low of national finance department. Send the cash request to NO finance on time.

Support to Asset management and Audit

  • Prepare asset listing to ensure that all assets purchases are correctly registered with complete required information by KOICA and WV.
  • Works with Operation team lead and Finance & Admin Manager in accomplishing all audit requirements.
  • Support SGFO to Responds to auditor’s queries & issues during audit field work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (professional certification e.g. CPA is an advantage but not required).
  • Minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and general accounting practices.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Lotus Notes, database systems, email, and internet-based programs is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a multicultural and cross-cultural environment.
  • Previous experience working on grant-funded projects is preferred.
  • Willing to be based in Eastern Visayas.
  • Fluent in both English and Filipino (Tagalog).
  • Proficiency in local languages spoken in Eastern Visayas is highly desirable.
