Job Title: Injection/Molding Specialist

Department: Injection Molding

Location: Register, GA / On-Site

Job Type: FT Exempt 

Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Eastern Time), subject to change due to business needs

Reports to: Injection Molding General Manager

 

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Injection/Molding Specialist to oversee and manage various aspects of injection molding operations, ensuring smooth production processes and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management, production planning, and employee training within an injection molding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management & Quality Control:

  • Conduct MES (Manufacturing Execution System) training for injection molding personnel.

  • Manage inventory of injection and mold consumables, including ordering and tracking stock levels.

  • Review and create standard work documents to comply with 5-STAR requirements.

  • Prepare and post injection molding condition sheets for each product.

  • Monitor and manage daily injection molding reports, including production and defect tracking.

  • Ensure proper D/T (Downtime) management within the MES system, tracking production efficiency and defects.

  • Conduct monthly inventory checks and inventory control for injection molding and related equipment.

Equipment & Process Oversight:

  • Obtain and review quotes for injection and mold-related materials.

  • Verify the operational status of injection machines according to the production plan.

  • Supervise start-up and shutdown procedures for machinery before and after work shifts (morning, breaks, lunch, and end of shift).

  • Regularly inspect injection lines, racks, and workforce status to ensure production targets are met.

Employee Training & Supervision:

  • Conduct training sessions for team leaders, mold changers, resin feeders, and rack feeders.

  • Monitor attendance and work shifts, including overtime assignments.

  • Prepare operator reports and allocate workers to different production lines.

  • Identify and address operator issues, including warnings and corrective training.

  • Assess and improve operator’s work methods and product quality, providing training when necessary.

  • Assign equipment to workers and issue warnings and training for non-compliance.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Manage and report production status based on the production plan.

  • Oversee issues related to molded products and worker performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.

    Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and company policies.

Qualifications 

  • Experience in injection molding operations or related manufacturing fields.

  • Familiarity with MES systems and production management tools.

  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.

  • Ability to train and supervise employees effectively.

  • Understanding of quality control processes and production standards.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
