The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, reliable, and compliant facility environment to support patient care. This role performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building systems and equipment while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

*Hours may vary with call backs

**Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekend

WORK LOCATION

1300 South Jackson Street, Frankfort

*Location may vary within Frankfort area with other buildings

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Respond promptly to work orders and urgent facility issues, especially in patient care areas
  • Support life safety systems, including fire alarms, emergency equipment, and drills
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., Joint Commission, NFPA, Environment of Care standards)
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and inspections
  • Coordinate with clinical staff, Environmental Services, and vendors to minimize disruption to patient care
  • Assist with facility inspections, audits, and emergency response situations
  • Performs scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls, and troubleshooting/repairing secondary utility systems of buildings, plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical and air systems. 
  • Maintains, repairs and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements. 
  • Recommends through the appropriate channels any improvements and corrections to the facilities, equipment and/or systems that meet overall patient care needs. 
  • May require on-call, evenings, weekends, or emergency response. 
  • Work is performed in mechanical spaces, patient care areas, and outdoor environments.
  • Performs routine building and grounds inspections. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Knowledge of applicable building codes related to healthcare is preferred.

 

REQUIREMENTS  

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • May require a valid Indiana driver's license with proof of insurance. 
  • Requires general knowledge of specialized areas including electrical secondary systems, plumbing systems, fire system devices and air systems. 
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics and diagrams. 
  • Requires general knowledge in the use of power and hand tools. 
  • Requires basic computer skills.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
