High School Teacher - Electives

Online Academy, a 27J Online School, is seeking a versatile and student-centered Online Electives Teacher to facilitate a diverse range of high school elective courses through the Edmentum Courseware platform. Unlike a traditional classroom role, this position focuses on guiding students through self-paced, curriculum-aligned coursework while providing personalized instructional support, monitoring progress, and ensuring course completion. 

Our ideal candidate is a proactive "content generalist" who thrives on helping students navigate various subjects. We are looking for an educator passionate about expanding student learning experiences beyond core academic subjects through intentional outreach and dedicated independent study support. 
 

This is a hybrid role that combines both on-campus workdays and remote days.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Support student learning in flex-paced Edmentum courses, serving as a content generalist to help students navigate a variety of elective subjects.
• Provide personalized, supplemental instruction, re-teaching, and clarification for students who struggle with specific course concepts. Develop or curate supplemental resources (videos, study guides, practice problems) to support students where courseware content alone is insufficient.
• Host a variety of synchronous learning opportunities such as: mini-lessons on difficult topics/lessons; small-group work sessions, and 1:1 conferences.
• Utilize a variety of communication tools in the online environment to effectively build relationships and promote student success with students, parents, teachers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor student progress dashboards daily to identify students who are behind pacing, disengaged, or struggling with course content. Maximize student success rates through regular communication, goal setting, and personalized support.
   

Qualifications

• Valid Colorado Teaching license in any content endorsement
• Proficiency will LMS and digital tools for instruction
• Prior experience with Edmentum or similar online courseware providers is helpful.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of students across disparate subject areas.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
