Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Trauma Registrar . In this role you will primary provide support to the Trauma Program Director (TPD) and Trauma Medical Director (TMD). Accurately identifies and enters all patients into the hospital trauma registry. Responsible for providing monthly, annual, and ad-hoc reports to the TPD, TMD, and other departments across the trauma continuum of care as needed. Identifies and submits data to approved local, regional, and national studies as approved by the TPD and TMD.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
EXPERIENCE:
1 year of computer and medical experience required.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of computers and hospital information systems
- Medical and other department specific terminology, including spelling and definitions
- Experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Proper handling of highly sensitive or confidential information
