Team Profile
The Power and Renewables Research Team is a highly respected group of analysts producing market-leading research on the entire renewable energy value chain, covering onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, energy storage and power markets. Our cutting-edge knowledge of renewable supply chains, costs, deployments, and investment trends further strengthens Wood Mackenzie's offerings in the market during this rapidly changing time in the energy sector.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join Wood Mackenzie’s Power & Renewables team in China. The research analyst will join the growing energy storage team, helping track the market and build insights for our clients. The analyst will be responsible for market research on evolving energy storage markets in China.
Responsibilities will include conducting original quantitative and qualitative research on the market, and delivering this analysis to clients through written reports, presentations, public speaking, addressing specific customer enquiries and through the delivery of bespoke consulting engagements. You will help with expanding our regional energy storage research using analytical or quantitative tools to better understand the role of energy storage assets in China. You will aggregate and summarise project level datasets, track energy storage market activity, develop financial models and forecast storage installation volumes and pricing trends. You will build strong ties with key industry stakeholders and engage with clients and prospects in collaboration with our sales team. You will collaborate with other Wood Mackenzie analysts covering storage across the globe, as well as those covering power markets and other renewable technologies and commodities in the region to ensure our analysis is robust, integrated and thought-provoking.

Knowledge and Experience
You have experience working in energy storage, renewables or power markets industry.
You are passionate about renewable energy, and come with strong knowledge of the sector and markets in APAC.
You have strong networking skills and can show that you can develop relationships with key industry stakeholders.
You have an analytical mindset and an eye for detail, and you can think outside the box and generate new ideas.
You can communicate new ideas and concepts to audiences in an engaging way, both verbally and in writing.
You are a strong team player and a natural self-starter who can work independently.
You are comfortable disrupting your routine, as you will constantly be looking to learn and provide in-depth analysis of industry trends and innovative market dynamics.
