Through our unique position to provide completely unbiased, independent advice to employers, Eckler’s consulting team is looking to expand the scope of our services to include compensation consulting expertise for our clients across Canada.
We are looking for consultants, located in Toronto or Vancouver, with subject matter expertise and strong interpersonal skills who can work within a tightly knit team and can effectively deal with competing priorities in a busy consulting practice. Typical projects will include developing comparator groups for benchmarking compensation levels and program design attributes to market, developing short- and long-term incentive plans, gauging the alignment of pay and company performance, studying market trends and monitoring changes in legislation. Consultants may assist or lead thought leadership research projects or publications, take part in business development opportunities, and can contribute internally on various firm-wide initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop compensation strategies, philosophies, and programs
- Provide consulting services to senior management on a variety of remuneration issues, including competitiveness of pay, performance, measurement, governance and regulatory implications
- Design short-term and long-term incentive programs
- Develop recurring business through effective client relationship building, account management and collaborative working with colleagues
- Lead proposal writing and shaping of opportunities for medium sized/complex clients
- Lead the delivery of complex projects while ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management and good communication/collaboration among colleagues
- Serve as project lead on the E-comp platform, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to support successful delivery and adoption
- Manage client expectations and deliver high quality work that exceeds client expectations
- Contribute to thought leadership/research and speaking on National platforms to enhance and extend the Eckler brand
- Serving as a mentor and actively supporting the development of junior staff members
What you offer:
- 5 – 8 years of compensation consulting or in-house compensation experience
- Comfortable presenting to committees and senior leaders
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and statistical abilities
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with both internal and external clients
- Strong project management skills combined with an ability and willingness to meet tight deadlines
- A degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business ,Statistics or related field
- Advanced Excel skills
- A passion for your work & collaborating with others
- Provide leadership to coop students and team members
Other helpful (but not required) assets:
- Previous experience at a consulting firm
- Depth in the regulatory environment across Canada
- Strong PowerPoint proficiency
- Proven sales ability
- Bilingual (English/French)
