Associate Accountant

Associate Accountant   Andrew – Madrid, Spain Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking to grow your career in an international environment? Andrew is looking for an Associate Accountant to join our Madrid team, supporting multiple legal entities and playing a key role in our finance operations.   About the Role As part of the Finance team, you will deliver high-quality accounting support, ensure compliance with Spanish regulations, and contribute to accurate financial reporting. This role offers broad exposure across general accounting, statutory reporting, and Shared Services operations.   Required Responsibilities: Manage general ledger accounts, including reconciliations and analysis Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and attention to detail Ensure full compliance with Spanish VAT, tax, and statutory requirements Review account activity, investigate discrepancies, and partner with internal stakeholders Support month-end and year-end close processes, including adjustments and depreciation Prepare financial schedules and reports for management and statutory purposes Work closely with the Shared Services Center (SSC) and oversee key activities   Additional Responsibilities (Desirable): Support fixed asset accounting (acquisitions, disposals, transfers) Assist with budgeting and financial analysis Prepare financial schedules and reports for management and statutory purposes Support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate documentation Contribute to process improvements and ad hoc finance projects   What You’ll Bring: Chartered/qualified accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in professional services or tax consulting Knowledge of Spanish VAT, tax, and statutory requirements including Spanish GAAP Advanced Spanish and a good working knowledge of English   Additional Skills That Will Set You Apart Experience with SAP Advanced Excel skills Additional French language skills    Please Submit All Applications and Resume's In English
