Safety Manager
Safety managers at Mid-City Electric provide technical safety support to field and corporate employees. They assist in developing safety programs and objectives and coordinate safety training programs. Safety Managers also monitor safety regulations and provide specialized support to employees to ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations.
Successful Safety Managers Have Experience with:
Providing safety support and information to field and corporate employees and contractors.
- Identifying company safety training needs and developing and coordinating safety training programs.
- Updating and maintaining corporate safety resources and reference material (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
- Promoting safety awareness through internal company communications and training programs.
- Participating in the company's occupational safety and health committee.
- Assisting as necessary in the implementation of a risk communication program and preparation of reports.
- Reviewing processes and operating procedures/records and providing input for safety and health concerns.
- Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur, implementing changes as required.
- Providing support to personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
- Audit practices and records of safety practices to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations.
- Reviewing injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follow-up as necessary.
Key Experience to Hit the Ground Running:
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations for protecting people, data, and property.
- The ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Using applicable information and individual judgment to determine whether procedures or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Ability to monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems.
- Strong interest in remaining up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to the job.
What Would Really Make You Shine:
- Minimum of three years of experience, preferably in commercial construction safety management.
- A bachelor’s degree in safety science, engineering, or industrial hygiene is highly preferred.
- CHST and OSHA 30 training are required; OSHA 510 training is desired.
- First Aid/CPR certification/training is preferred.

- Completion of projects, the accuracy of safety records, and communications/interactions with owners and co-workers.
- General execution and completion of all responsibilities related to the position and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Actively form relationships with personnel to correct unsafe situations and performance deficiencies.
- Understand company and project leadership structure and navigate efficiently to resolve all challenges.
- Feedback from management and other office employees.
This position does require on-site work at active construction sites in central Ohio.

- This is a salary non-exempt role, therefore it is overtime eligible
- Pay range is $75,000 - 85,000 per year commensurate with experience level
- Annual bonus potential
