We're looking for someone to join our team as a Environment of Care Specialist who:

The Environment of Care (EOC) Specialist supports the Emergency Planning & Environment of Care Manager in implementing, coordinating, and continuously improving Clinica Sierra Vista's Emergency Management and Environment of Care programs across all facilities. The Specialist assists with regulatory readiness, safety compliance, emergency preparedness, site inspections, training, documentation, committee coordination, and operational support to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.


Essential Functions:


1. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing emergency preparedness activities and drills.

2. Support emergency preparedness training, documentation, and reporting.

3. Maintain Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs), emergency procedures, and response protocols.

4. Support incident documentation, communications, and resource tracking during emergencies.

5. Perform monthly Environment of Care rounds and fire extinguisher inspections.

6. Analyze inspection trends and prepare reports for leadership review.

7. Support Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety compliance activities.

8. Assist with safety education, new employee orientation, and annual training.

9. Coordinate EOC Committee meetings, agendas, minutes, and follow-up items.

10. Assist with updates to policies, procedures, forms, and program documentation.

11. Maintain emergency supplies, disaster kits, and readiness inventories.

12. Support regulatory surveys, audits, mock surveys, and site visits.

13. Collaborate with Facilities, Compliance, HR, Security, and Operations to resolve safety concerns.

14. Maintain records using Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

15. Other duties as assigned.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Reasonable and predictable in person attendance. 
  • May be required to travel to satellite facilities.
  • May support emergency responses, after-hours incidents, drills, and special events


You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, Public Safety, Public Health, Occupational Safety, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in emergency management, healthcare safety, disaster preparedness, regulatory compliance, or a related field. Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Valid California Driver License required. FEMA ICS coursework and/or CHSP, CHEP, or related certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, HRSA, and Cal/OSHA requirements.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and track corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to travel to satellite facilities
  • Must be able to work a full-time schedule.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screening (background check, drug tests, and references).
  • Must be able to comply with organizational behavioral standards.
