We're looking for someone to join our team as a General Services Manager who:

The General Services Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the operational activities of the General Services Department, including Facilities operations, maintenance services, preventive maintenance, vendor coordination, facility projects, Environment of Care support, Life Safety documentation, emergency management coordination, safety readiness, and department reporting. This position oversees the daily coordination, planning, documentation, and performance of assigned Facilities and EOC/Emergency Management functions across Clinica Sierra Vista sites. 

Essential Functions:


1. Manages daily General Services operations in accordance with established policies, procedures, contractual requirements, licensing requirements, and organizational standards.

2. Oversees assigned Facilities and EOC/Emergency Management functions, including maintenance operations, preventive maintenance, facility safety, Life Safety documentation, emergency preparedness support, vendor coordination, site inspections, and corrective action tracking.

3. Supervises, coaches, trains, schedules, and evaluates assigned General Services staff, which may include Facilities Supervisors, EOC/EM staff, Facilities Technicians, housekeeping, grounds, mobile unit support, or other assigned personnel.

4. Works with the Director of General Services to plan, budget, prioritize, and schedule facility maintenance, site improvements, preventive maintenance, vendor services, inspections, and department projects.

5. Supports remodeling projects, tenant improvements, site expansions, new facility readiness, mobile unit readiness, and other facility-related projects through scheduling, cost tracking, vendor coordination, documentation, progress updates, and issue escalation.

6. Oversees facility operating conditions across assigned sites and ensures equipment, building systems, utilities, grounds, and support services are maintained in good working order.

7. Manages preventive maintenance activities for facility systems and site assets, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, generators, fire/life safety systems, elevators, backflows, security systems, doors, locks, alarms, medical support systems, and other assigned equipment.

8. Supports compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to healthcare facilities, licensing, permitting, environmental conditions, hazardous materials, Life Safety, emergency preparedness, and facility operations.

9. Works with Quality, Nursing, Emergency Management, EOC/EM staff, site leadership, and the Director of General Services to support Joint Commission Environment of Care readiness and related documentation.

10. Oversees Environment of Care and Life Safety readiness activities, including site rounds, deficiency tracking, corrective action follow-up, documentation reviews, emergency supplies tracking, evacuation map updates, safety files, and inspection readiness.

11. Supports documentation and readiness activities related to Safety and Security Management, Hazardous Materials/Waste Management, Fire Safety Management, Medical Equipment Management, Utility Management, and Emergency Management.

12. Ensures required inspection, testing, and maintenance documentation is maintained for systems such as fire alarms, fire sprinklers, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signs, generators, backflows, elevators, egress pathways, utility systems, alarms, access control, and other compliance-related building functions.

13. Maintains or oversees master files for Safety Data Sheets, fire extinguisher inventories, inspection reports, deficiency logs, vendor reports, corrective action records, emergency preparedness documentation, and other General Services records.

14. Monitors work order performance, aging requests, recurring issues, completion trends, preventive maintenance status, vendor follow-up, and site-level service needs.

15. Oversees the department-approved work order system and supports improvements to intake, routing, prioritization, assignment, closeout documentation, reporting, and service visibility. 


Team Leadership & Supervision:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of professionals, ensuring clear direction, guidance, and support.
  • Provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a positive team environment.
  • Ensure team members have the resources, tools, and training needed to succeed and meet their goals

Operational Oversight:

  • Manage daily operations, ensuring tasks and projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to company standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement solutions for continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Act as a liaison between the team and upper management to ensure goals, challenges, and feedback are effectively communicated.
  • Coordinate with other managers to ensure consistency and alignment of processes across teams.

Project Management:

  • Plan, execute, and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and deadlines.
  • Ensure proper allocation of resources, including personnel, time, and budget, to successfully complete projects.
  • Track project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet objectives.

Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:

  • Identify and resolve operational or personnel issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Make decisions that benefit the team and organization, with an emphasis on maintaining high levels of productivity and morale.


You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s-level coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Administration, Facilities Management, Project Management, Emergency Management, Safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Five or more years of experience in facilities management, general services, healthcare facility operations, maintenance operations, vendor management, EOC support, emergency management, project coordination, or related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of supervisory, lead, or management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-site facility operations, vendors, work orders, preventive maintenance, inspection documentation, and service reporting preferred.
  • Healthcare, community health center, ambulatory care, dental clinic, or FQHC experience preferred.
  • Valid California driver’s license required. 
  • Must be willing to complete required safety, emergency management, EOC, Life Safety, de-escalation, or leadership training as assigned.
