Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Direct Support Professional will provide supports in vocational, life, and social/emotional skills to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The qualified candidate will offer training to help individuals achieve their chosen goals and objectives, leading to the best possible outcomes. The Direct Support Professional will serve as a teacher, mentor, and role model, empowering individuals to lead meaningful and self-determined lives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Individual Support & Training: Provide person-centered support and training to individuals receiving Adult Day Training Services.
- Support & Documentation: Implement and document positive behavior strategies and interventions.
- Health, Safety, & Communication: Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Production Responsibilities: Assist and support individuals in a production environment while maintaining production schedules and meeting quality standards per customer requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Complete and maintain core training in required time
- Prefer one year experience in human services field
- Valid driver’s license
- Insurable according to LifeSkills vehicle insurance carrier
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS:
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs
- Provides direct services to clients
- Work will be in a factory setting
- Will document work done daily and monthly
- Will perform tasks directly related to training received
