General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide behavior/SEL/mental health support to all students
- Complete student risk assessments
- Maintain required records
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed
- Provide/connect students/families with appropriate support services
- Connect students/families with appropriate outside support agencies
- Consult with teachers/administrators/counselors to support student behavioral/SEL/mental health needs
- Punctual, regular and consistent attendance is required
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work?
- Must hold (or qualify for) a valid State of Michigan license?(LMSW, LLMSW, SSW, and/or LPC)
- Embodies high ethical standards and integrity. Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct
- Ability to comply with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
- Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team
- Ability to utilize appropriate technology as directed. Commitment to keep current with workplace innovations that enhance personal productivity
- Ability to facilitate student/family access to appropriate community resources.
- Knowledge of best practices in school climate and SEL Strategies (PBIS, MTSS, SEL Standards, Restorative Practices, Tier II Interventions, etc.)
- Ability to evaluate students as part of a team to determine eligibility for Special Education programs/services
- Ability to assist in the development, implementation and progress monitoring of Functional Behavior Assessments/Behavior Intervention Plans
- Punctual, regular & consistent attendance is required.
- Meets all mandated health screening requirements following a conditional offer of employment
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Approval as a School Social Worker- temporary or full
- Possess training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques (CPI trained)
- Knowledge of MTSS and participation in the process
