Job Summary:
Provides health care services and patient education, develops and evaluates care plans, and prescribes medications and treatments in support of patient health and well-being.Job Description:
- Assess, diagnoses and treats acute and chronic health conditions utilizing various medical practices and medications.
- Provides follow-up care and evaluates effectiveness of care.
- Develops, implements, collects data and evaluates primary health care services as directed by individual care plans.
- Develops individualized care plans based on medical assessments in accordance with medical best practices and established rules and regulations.
- Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them.
- Will obtain SANE certification and provide SANE exams in rotation with other SANE-trained providers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides primary medical care and treatment to students within the University community.
- Conducts patient assessments, obtains medical histories, and performs physical examinations.
- Diagnoses acute and chronic health conditions and develops appropriate treatment plans.
- Prescribes medications, orders diagnostic testing, and manages follow-up care.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educates patients on diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and preventive health practices.
- Makes referrals to specialists and outside providers when clinically appropriate.
- Interprets and communicates laboratory and diagnostic test results to patients.
- Promotes public health initiatives through patient education and community outreach.
- Maintains accurate and compliant medical documentation in accordance with professional standards.
- Provides clinical leadership and supports nursing staff development and patient care operations.
- Participates in public health surveillance, risk mitigation, and campus health initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and clinical protocols governing advanced practice nursing.
