Job Summary:
Advises students on academic matters, such as course selection and degree requirements, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality to ensure students reach academic, personal, and professional success.Job Description:
The School of Business Administration at the University of Mississippi seeks an Academic Advisor. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Minimum education requirements include a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
The successful candidate for this position support students in the School of Business Administration by providing information to students and potential students concerning admission requirements, degree requirements, course selection, and related functions by utilizing undergraduate and graduate catalogs as well as other information.
This person also interfaces with academic areas and applicable administrative offices to ensure compliance with current requirements and academic policies. They maintain student records in order to monitor student academic progress throughout their degree programs. Finally, they assist recruiting, verification of transfers, and other related or similar duties as required.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Advises students and potential students concerning admission requirements, degree requirements, course selection, and related functions.
2. Communicates with various offices to ensure compliance with current academic requirements and procedures.
3. Participates in activities associated with the monitoring academic progress, registration of students, and maintenance of student record files
