About the Position
As a Senior SAP S/4HANA Pre-Sales Consultant (m/f/d), you will play a key role in shaping the digital transformation of our customers in the public sector. You will be responsible for providing overarching consulting on our customers’ future SAP strategy, changes and innovations brought by S/4HANA, impacts on business processes, and the identification of added value as well as potential target architectures, recommendations on cloud strategy, and the evaluation of different transformation paths.
You can expect the following exciting tasks:
- Taking on presales activities, supporting sales events and customer engagement, and actively contributing to the expansion of our cross-module SAP consulting expertise for the public sector
- Preparing proposals for S/4HANA preliminary studies, including methodology descriptions, cost calculations, and presentations
- Conducting S/4HANA preliminary studies, including evaluation of technical scans such as the SAP Readiness Check, assessment of various transformation approaches, creation of business cases, design of potential target architectures, conducting customer workshops, development of S/4HANA roadmaps, and effort and cost estimations
- Following successful completion of the preliminary project, initial support and guidance in S/4HANA implementation and migration projects in complex system landscapes
- Conducting SAP innovation workshops on current topics such as SAP Business AI, SAP BTP, SAP Joule, BDC, Clean Core concepts, etc.
Required Skills and Experience
You hold a university degree in (business) informatics, business administration, economics, or a comparable field, and have at least 5–7 years of professional experience in SAP ERP consulting, for example as an SAP module consultant, SAP architect, or SAP pre-sales expert. You have practical experience in the public sector and are familiar with specific budgetary, legal, and administrative requirements, such as budget management, cameralistics & double-entry accounting, funds and grant management, procurement, or HR management.
In addition, you cover substantial parts of the following requirements:
- Experience in conducting SAP S/4HANA preliminary studies and/or large, international S/4HANA transformation projects
- Strong experience in presales, sales support, customer workshops and presentations, trade fairs, etc.
- Very good understanding of functional and technological changes in S/4HANA, the SAP S/4HANA strategy, and related cloud platforms and solutions (including SAP Integrated Toolchain)
- Strong understanding of various migration and transformation approaches (system conversion, new implementation, selective data migration)
- Solid knowledge of the latest SAP technologies such as SAP Business AI, SAP BTP, SAP Joule, BDC, Clean Core concepts, etc.
- Deep industry expertise, particularly in the public sector and/or defense industry
- Ideally, experience with additional SAP cloud solutions (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Customer Experience)
- Understanding of underlying cloud infrastructure concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP BTP) are desirable
- Business-fluent German and English, both written and spoken (CEF Level C1)
- Personally, you impress with a customer-oriented and confident demeanor and can operate confidently at top management level
- High willingness to travel, primarily within Germany
