POSITION SUMMARY: Rentals Technicians work to ensure that rental equipment is safe, functional, clean, and ready for use.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for supplying own tools.
- Determine equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
- Correct equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics.
- Maintain equipment records by annotating services and repairs.
- Contain costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipts.
- Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and service tasks on various rental equipment (both on customer sites and at Rolfson shops), following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
- Conduct troubleshooting to identify issues and implement effective solutions to ensure equipment functionality.
- Adhere to a provided schedule by management to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the service truck, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and secured.
- Keep the workshop area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications for basic administrative tasks such as documenting work orders and submitting parts order requests.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with management to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients and address their equipment-related concerns.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and maintenance protocols.
- On call responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience: 2 years of experience
Computer Skills: Basic
Certificates & Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License
Completion of company and customer required safety training
Other Requirements: Basic reading, writing, and math skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Rentals Technician generally work outside and travel to different job sites each day. Hours fluctuate and very according to the market demand. No shift can be guaranteed, and long hours may be required. Shifts may begin at different hours of the day or evening. Work is completed in a cautious environment where there are hazards and temperature extremes. Job sites are typically located in very remote locations where urban conveniences may not be available. Rentals Technician must drive carefully (as needed), wear proper safety gear, follow all company and site safety rules, and be responsible. This is not only to protect the safety of oneself but for others, the community, and the environment.
