Specialist, Liability Claims

This role independently manages complex Liability claims end to end, delivering strong customer outcomes while balancing financial, risk and compliance obligations. You’ll apply technical expertise and sound judgement to resolve claims efficiently and contribute positively to team capability and IAG’s values. Offering a hybrid work environment, this is a permanent full-time role based in multiple locations across Australia.

What You'll Do

• Manage accurate and compliant claim information in line with legislative, customer and internal requirements

• Independently manage complex Liability claims, including assessment of indemnity, liability and quantum

• Manage litigated matters in partnership with legal panels, reviewing strategy and advice

• Deliver strong customer outcomes through the effective application of legislation, guidelines and compliance obligations

• Manage claims in line with the claims segmentation model, referring matters appropriately

• Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, brokers and internal and external stakeholders

• Conduct claim investigations and analysis, engaging relevant assessors and service providers to inform decision‑making

What You'll Bring

• A customer‑centric mindset with the confidence to work independently and deliver timely, high‑quality outcomes

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with customers, brokers and internal teams

• Ability to conduct thorough claim investigations and analyse information from multiple sources

• Sound judgement in financial decision‑making, including working within delegated authority and appropriate escalation

• Experience managing litigated matters and partnering effectively with external legal panel

• Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidelines and compliance obligations

• Proven experience managing complex Liability claims end to end, including indemnity, liability and quantum assessment
