We’re seeking a Tech Lead – Security Operations Engineer (Network & VPN) with strong hands‑on experience across VPN, Netskope, and secure access services. This is a senior individual contributor role (no people management), ideal for an engineer who takes ownership of services end‑to‑end and thrives in a BAU‑heavy enterprise environment.
The position blends security operations, project delivery, and continuous improvement, with a key focus on supporting the transition from legacy VPN technology to Netskope.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) , Naarm (Melbourne).
What You'll Do
- Provide technical leadership for secure access and segmentation services, including Illumio and Netskope
- Lead architecture, deployment, optimisation, and ongoing operation of security platforms
- Perform day‑to‑day BAU operations, operational changes, and project delivery
- Assist with incident and problem management, ensuring timely resolution of tickets
- Monitor, remediate, and optimise security tooling performance and availability
- Identify and implement automation and process improvements
What You’ll Bring
- Strong security operations focus with deep, hands‑on expertise in VPN technologies, particularly Netskope and Netskope Private Access (NPA)
- 5–10+ years’ experience in enterprise security operations or technology delivery environments
- Proven experience across key security platforms including Netskope, Illumio, Checkpoint/Forcepoint firewalls, CrowdStrike, Akamai/CSC DNS, and Kiteworks
- Solid AWS, networking, and Linux experience with strong operational troubleshooting capability
- Demonstrated ability to improve service reliability, automation, and operational maturity
- Strong collaborator with effective stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non‑technical teams
- Comfortable working in on‑call, incident‑driven environments with a continuous learning mindset
