HVAC and general maintenance skills are helpful.
Hotel experience preferred
• Responding to engineering service calls
• Completing maintenance request work orders from all departments in a timely basis
• Performing preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis
• Ensuring that equipment is working properly
• Completing other special projects as assigned by the Chief Maintenance Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
•Represent the hotel and restaurants in a positive manner at all times.
•Prioritize any repairs or maintenance issues that may impact or inconvenience our guest's experience.
•Repair and maintain facility buildings and equipment.
•Complete any building and room renovations, plumbing, painting, sheetrock work, electrical, and carpentry.
•Make repairs on all mechanical, electric and plumbing equipment.
•Perform preventative maintenance on building and equipment.
•Complete ground work and custodial work as necessary.
•Maintain all equipment and property in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Chief Engineer.
•Monitor and perform periodic tests on Fire Alarm and Life Safety System.
•Assist in energy conservation by observing energy and utilities usage in the hotel and on the grounds; look for ways to conserve energy; recommend any ideas to the Chief Engineer.
•Clean, lubricate, protect and otherwise maintains all tools and equipment in the hotel.
•Ensure that all tools and equipment used are returned to and secured in proper storage area.
•Assists in handling emergencies in order to protect our guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency; must act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.
•Inform Chief Engineer of any emergencies.
•Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner.
•Maintain communication with Chief Engineer to ensure that all needed materials, tools and supplies are available or on order.
•Keep Chief Engineer updated on assignments.
•Demonstrate financial responsibility by monitoring budgetary guidelines.
•Exemplify the hotel's Standard Code of Conduct and all other regulations established by management and Employee Handbook.
•Maintain the hotel's emergency procedures as instructed by hotel management.
•Lead the Hotel EMC2 experience as instructed by the hotel leaders.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
•Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.
•Show off the proper uniform/dress at all times and be well groomed.
•Be flexible since you are running a 24/7 hotel operation.
•This job requires ability to perform the following: carrying, lifting pushing and/or pulling items weighing up to 100-300 pounds, frequently standing up and moving about the facility, frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility, frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crawling.
•Applicant must be an active/current member of the IUOE Local 399.
