Position Overview – Roof Assistant General Manager
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Roof at theWit is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, exceptional guest experiences, and effective team management. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of the bar's operations, including staff supervision, financial performance, inventory control, compliance with health and safety standards, and fostering a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Experience & Service Excellence:
- Ensure a consistently exceptional guest experience by maintaining high service standards.
- Act as a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests to address concerns and enhance satisfaction.
- Promote a culture of hospitality that aligns with theWit's luxury standards.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, and shift management.
- Monitor cleanliness, ambiance, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain product quality by collaborating with bartenders and culinary team to ensure menu consistency.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor bar staff to uphold service excellence and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and performance expectations.
- Lead by example in professionalism, guest engagement, and adherence to company values.
- Financial Oversight:
- Assist in managing budgets, labor costs, inventory, and purchasing to ensure financial targets are met.
- Conduct regular stock takes and manage inventory control systems to minimize waste.
- Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
- Event Planning & Innovation:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotions, seasonal craft cocktails, and special events that drive guest engagement.
- Stay updated on industry trends to introduce innovative ideas that enhance the rooftop bar's appeal.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to licensing regulations for alcohol service.
- Maintain compliance with food safety standards and hotel policies.
- Address emergencies calmly and effectively while prioritizing guest and staff safety.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a high-volume bar or luxury hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail creation; passion for nightlife is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage financials (budgeting, forecasting) and operational metrics effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
- Proficiency in POS systems (e.g., MICROS) and reservation platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Creativity in developing unique beverage programs or themed events.

Compensation
- $75,000 - $78,000 per year
