Position Title: Clinic Manager (RN/LPN)
Department: Rural Health Clinics [Monroe Clinic]
Reports To: Medical Director of Outpatient Medicine
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary
The Clinic Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations, staff supervision, workflow management, operational performance, and clinical oversight of the assigned Rural Health Clinic location(s). This role ensures efficient clinic operations, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff accountability, and positive patient experiences.
The Clinic Manager serves as the on-site operational leader for the clinic and collaborates closely with providers, the Medical Director, and organizational leadership to support clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and organizational goals.
Essential Functions
Operations & Clinic Management
- Oversee day-to-day clinic operations and patient flow
- Manage staffing schedules, clinic workflows, and operational efficiency
- Monitor clinic performance metrics, productivity, and patient access
- Monitor clinic expenses, resource utilization, and supply management in collaboration with leadership
- Ensure operational readiness and compliance with organizational standards
- Identify and implement workflow and process improvement opportunities
Staff Management & Leadership
- Supervise clinical and non-clinical clinic staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and disciplinary processes
- Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence
- Support employee engagement, training, and staff development initiatives
- Serve as the primary on-site leadership resource for operational and personnel concerns
Clinical Oversight & Quality
- Support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care
- Maintain compliance with RHC regulations, CMS requirements, HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies
- Support clinical staff and serve as a clinical resource as needed
- Collaborate with the Medical Director regarding clinical standards and patient care processes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts
- Assist with audit readiness, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance activities
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with providers, leadership, and support departments
- Communicate organizational updates, expectations, and operational changes to staff
- Support strategic and operational initiatives within the clinics
- Address patient concerns and support service recovery efforts

Qualifications
Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing required
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered where appropriate
Experience:
- Leadership or supervisory experience required
- Outpatient clinic or physician practice experience preferred
- Rural Health Clinic (RHC) experience preferred
- Experience with staffing, workflow management, and clinic operations preferred
Licensure/Certifications:
- Active RN or LPN license required
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- RHC certification or willingness to obtain preferred

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods

Working Conditions
- Combination of clinical and administrative work in an outpatient setting
- Frequent interaction with patients, staff, providers, and leadership
- Exposure to clinical risks including infectious diseases; PPE required
- Fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Occasional travel for meetings, training, or organizational needs may be required.
- May require extended hours based on operational needs
